Chicago Tolls
This is just a public service announcement to remind everyone that goes to Chicago as much as myself (i.e. not very much), that tolls prices are increasing. Come the first of the year, I believe all, tolls are doubling.
All the signs on the interstate are reminding people. It makes me wonder what size piece of the pie Jewel gets for selling the speed pass. I mean, that’s essentially what the city of Chicago is trying to do, get everyone that uses the tollroads to use the speed pass. It makes sense though, fewer toll workers, less congestion, etc. The only down side now is that it looks like the city is fleecing tourists even more, since they’re the ones that are going to be paying the majority of the toll increase.
Just curious if anyone knows, but is the Skyway toll going to double too?

Yeah, Skyway is going way up as well. Actually, they only double for non-IPass users, although you probably knew this. All my in-laws got I-Passes for christmas.

yeah, like i said, for the people that don’t get up to chicago much like me they go up. It’s not worth buying a I-pass for as little as I’m up there. I just need to remind myself to bring 2x as much money whenever I drive though.

Try going back and forth to western IL. There are two tolls along I88 that are now going to be $1.90. That’s steep!
I used to think that it made sense that they had tolls around Chicago. I thought because there was so much traffic, they would need to perform more maintainence more often, but coming home last night on the tollway I was trying to figure out if I had a flat tire, or if it was just because the road was so bad. Where’s all my money going??
