Incentive?

Why exactly should I work so hard when, no matter how hard I try, I’m rewarded exactly the same as people who work half as hard?

  1. The vacation home on Lake Lelanau is the result of someone trying hard.  No matter what you do, there are always slackers.  When you try hard, people see it and think of you for promotions.  Also, you know that you can venture out on your own and make it because you known what it takes and can do what it takes.  No one said that life is fair.

  2. True, it’s just frustrating I guess. I can’t worry so much about the here and now, but more the future.

  3. To put a wee bit of light on the larger scheme of things, while at your job, you’ve only known it as it is during a budget crunch.  I’m positive that after things get better, merit will count for more.

  5. Iffy, it’s not the amount, it’s the distribution. I don’t care if I don’t make huge bling bling, I just want to be compensated fairly with respect to my peers and abilities.
